FAQs

All our used containers are individually inspected and graded so you know exactly what you’re getting:

  • Premium (One-Trip/New): Near-mint condition, one overseas journey from the factory, minimal to no marks — ideal for conversions, offices, or premium storage.
  • A-Grade (Cargo-Worthy): Structurally sound, fully windproof and watertight, with minor surface rust, small dents, and fully operational doors. This is our most popular grade for long-term storage and commercial use.
  • Windy Watertight: Same structural integrity as A-grade, with slightly more cosmetic wear at a lower price point — guaranteed no leaks.
  • B-Grade / As-Is: Budget-friendly units with visible wear, surface rust, or minor repairs. Best for farm, industrial, or short-term use; watertight status is clearly stated per unit.

We never sell a container as wind/watertight unless it passes our inspection for floor condition, door seals, and roof integrity. If it leaks, it’s graded accordingly and priced honestly.

It depends on what you’re storing and how much space you have:

  • 20ft (~6m long): Holds roughly the contents of a single garage (about 33m³ internal volume). Our most popular size for backyard storage, small building sites, farm use, and single-vehicle garaging. Easy to place on most residential blocks.
  • 40ft (~12m long): Roughly two garages of space (67m³ volume). Best for commercial stock storage, large workshops, farm equipment, and multi-room tiny home/office conversions.
  • High Cube (20ft or 40ft): Has an extra 30cm of internal height (2.9m vs standard 2.6m). Perfect if you need tall shelving, mezzanine floors, overhead lighting, or are converting the container into a livable space or workshop.

If you’re not sure, just tell us what you’re storing and how much space you have — we’ll point you to the right size with no upsell pressure.

We handle all delivery using specialist tilt-tray or hiab/crane trucks — you don’t need any equipment on your end:

  • Tilt-tray delivery (most common): The truck tilts its bed and slides the container off onto your site. Works perfectly for most locations with reasonable vehicle access.
  • Hiab delivery: For tricky spots (over fences, up driveways with tight access, or elevated blocks), our crane truck lifts the container into place.

To prepare, your site just needs:

  • A firm, level surface (concrete, gravel, compacted dirt, or grass — soft sand/mud may cause the truck to get stuck)
  • At least 3m of clearance through gates and along the access path
  • No overhead power lines or tree branches blocking the drop zone

Standard delivery lead times are 3–10 business days depending on your location. We’ll give you a specific delivery window and confirm access before we arrive.

We never use generic stock photos every container listed on our site has recent, actual photos of that exact unit, including shots of the interior, floors, doors, and any cosmetic wear.
If you’d prefer to see a container in person, you’re welcome to visit our depots during business hours to walk through any unit in stock before you buy. We can also send short video walkthroughs on request if you can’t make it in person. No bait-and-switch the container you view is the container you get delivered.

Absolutely. We can handle almost any modification you need and have the finished unit delivered straight to your site, ready to use. Popular modifications include:

  • Personnel (walk-through) doors and extra sets of double doors
  • Windows, security screens, and skylights
  • Whirlybird ventilation, air vents, and air-conditioning cutouts
  • Insulation, internal lining, electrical fitouts, and lighting
  • Heavy-duty shelving, workbenches, and lockboxes
  • Custom paint, company signage, and rust treatment
  • Side-opening doors, open-top conversions, and full office/kitchen/bathroom fitouts

Just tell us what you need the container to do, and we’ll quote the modifications up front — no surprise fees later.

Rules vary by council, state, and how long the container will stay on site:

  • Most councils allow temporary shipping container placement (for storage during renovations, building projects, or short-term use) for 6–12 months without formal approval.
  • Permanent placements, containers used as dwellings/offices/workshops, or containers visible from the street usually require development approval.

It is ultimately your responsibility to check your local council’s rules before delivery, but we can provide engineering specifications, dimensions, wind-rating documentation, and any other paperwork you need to support a council application on request.
